Harvard removes human skin binding from book

Harvard University has recently removed a book bound in human skin from its collection. The rare book, titled “Des destinees de l’ame” (On the Destinies of the Soul), was part of the university’s Houghton Library collection.

According to a statement from Harvard, the decision to remove the book was made after conducting a review of the Houghton Library’s collection practices and policies. The university stated that the book will be moved to an off-site storage facility for further study.

The book is believed to have been bound in human skin by a notorious bookbinder named Arsenic Cuius. It is one of the few known books in the world to have been bound in human skin.

Harvard’s decision to remove the book has sparked debate among scholars and researchers. Some argue that the book should be preserved for historical and academic purposes, while others support the university’s decision to remove it from the collection.
