Portland smells of rose blossoms right about now. That’s because the iconic International Rose Test Garden, atop a hill in Washington Park, has burst into bloom and wafts of velvety perfume down to the city below. The test garden has some 7,000 rose bushes of approximately 550 varieties. The display garden, which has 10,000 bushes of 650 varieties, is due to start blooming in a few weeks.
