Portland, Oregon – A group of volunteers in the Portland area are being sought to help raise future guide dogs for the visually impaired.
The nonprofit organization, Guide Dogs for the Blind, is looking for volunteers to raise and socialize puppies for up to 14 months before they enter formal training to become guide dogs.
Volunteers must be able to provide a safe and loving home for the puppies, as well as attend regular training sessions. The organization provides support and guidance throughout the process.
The puppies will eventually go on to help those who are visually impaired navigate the world with more confidence and independence.
