Atlanta launches next phase of ‘Light Up the Night’ plan
ATLANTA – The city of Atlanta has officially launched the next phase of its ‘Light Up the Night’ plan, aiming to improve safety and visibility in the city’s neighborhoods.
The new phase of the plan includes the installation of additional street lights, improved lighting in parks and public spaces, and increased support for community-driven initiatives to enhance lighting in residential areas.
According to city officials, the goal of the ‘Light Up the Night’ plan is to reduce crime and increase safety by addressing the issue of inadequate lighting in various parts of the city.
“We know that well-lit streets and public spaces are essential for creating a safe and welcoming environment for all residents,” said Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. “We are committed to ensuring that every corner of our city is well-lit and secure.”
The initiative has already seen positive results in several neighborhoods across Atlanta, with residents reporting feeling safer and more secure with the increased lighting.
The city is encouraging residents to get involved in the ‘Light Up the Night’ plan by reporting any areas in need of improved lighting and participating in community-led efforts to enhance safety and visibility in their neighborhoods.
Officials are hopeful that the continued implementation of the plan will lead to a significant reduction in crime and an overall improvement in the quality of life for Atlanta residents.
